  • 600 volunteers and 80 horsemen take part in the performance of Škofja Loka Passion Play. They help to organize and prepare the performance. Without the volunteers and good passion spirit the performance couldn’t be performed.
  • About 50 german florins were available for the realization of Škofja Loka Passion Play in the year 1721. That amount of money represented a lot of money in that time.
  • 74.400 people viewed Škofja Loka Passion Play in the years 1999, 2000 and 2009. This shows its exceptional beauty and represents a strong message of the Passion Play.
  • Pope Francis has already visited Škofjo Loko. Better to say, Jorge Mario Bergoglio visited the village called Virmaše in Škofja Loka. He is very popular among people for its simplicity, modesty and warmth. It is known that the Pope Francis visited personally Andrej Golar’s family from Virmaše. In 1957, at the age of sixteen, Andrej Golar went to Argentina looking for better life. In Argentina he met Father Jorge Mario Bergoglio as a librarian at the Philosophic and Theological Faculty in the suburb of Buenos Aires.
