Blinded and enslaved by you, he tasted the forbidden fruit out of sinful love. With this bite, he drove himself and all his offspring from paradise to a world full of toil. Adam, why didn’t you immediately suffocate sinful love in ashes, so that it caused eternal damage to your soul and body?

Oh, Adam, for your sake they have all become serfs, not only of the hot work-path, but of the cold death-path. From then on, everyone pours it, be it pope or bishop, emperor or king, because everyone is subject to temporary, but also eternal death

Eternal death, oh, oh, would have tasted more souls plunged into cruel hell, if the Savior had not come to repair the damage of sinful love. Remember, O wicked and sinful love, that all evil came into the world with you.

The Almighty will come and wipe away the sin of the world by the suffering of his Son. The guild brotherhoods of Škofja Loka are also looking forward to salvation together with their patrons. See, their intercessory angels are already predicting suffering.

Because of God’s infinite love, a hostile battle is announced to sin. That is why Jesus came into the world and gathered twelve apostles around him.

In order for the apostles to persecute sin even more and overcome it as quickly as possible, Jesus gave them his precious body and blood as a solid armor and spear.

It is true that mighty Samson fought a heroic battle. He fought so long that with his own supremely glorious death he struck down all his enemies. But the infinite love of Jesus dares to fight an even more heroic battle with sin. Her fight lasts longer than Samson’s, with a much stronger enemy. For the loving Christ, this struggle squeezed for the first time an abundance of precious blood from the holy body.

Yes, by right of way our Savior is bleeding as he carries on his shoulders the mighty burden of all the sins of the world. He takes them upon himself at the command of his heavenly Father. But that’s not enough; Judas, one of the twelve, betrayed him to his enemies.

His battle of love raged even worse: When sin caught him, bound him, and scourged him, he received so many lashes with great patience. From the crown of his head to his heels there was not a healthy spot to be found on him.

Only the crown of his head remained unharmed, so sin mocked him as a false king and crowned him with thorns.

Consider, oh Christians, who is the cause of all this! Let these thoughts draw from your eyes not only common, but also bloody tears; as the penitent St. Hieronymus and all other penitents. But the struggle of love is not over yet.

By spitting, mocking, and beating, they made Jesus seem like he was not human. Therefore listen to the words of Pilate: “Ecce homo, look, this is a man.” Oh, love, how steadfast you are, not ceasing to resist sin, your so cruel enemy!

It is He who spares murderers who must bear the heavy burden of the cross to Mount Calvary on His shoulders.

Oh, constant love of Jesus, you overcame sin most precisely when you received the last blow with the spear. But not only you, but with you all parts of the world: Europe, Asia, Africa and America. United in true faith, in firm hope and burning love, they cling firmly to the perilous voyage around the world.

Mary faithfully followed Jesus. A great sea of ​​bitterness could not quench her great love. After this, she deserved to become a martyr above all martyrs.

Just as King David begs forgiveness for his sin in front of the ark of the covenant, you, Christians, follow Jesus as he lies in the tomb, meditate on his heart wounded by love.
